An autumn break in Copenhagen
I’m visiting Copenhagen and would like to describe the city as:
organically built, elegant, royal, central european, green, semi-photogenic, expensive, charming, earth-toned, unsuspecting, multilingual, alternative, in-progress, advanced.
Today is the last of our seven days here and might be spent with coffee, film cameras, a David Lynch exhibition and Nørrebro. Photos to follow.

Pinterest is an online pinboard maker, for inspiration and reference. As of now, it is quite design-oriented, but some art gems sometimes surface.

Youth in Revolt →
Teenage antihero Nick Twisp moves from the pages of the beloved novel YOUTH IN REVOLT to the screen with this film directed by Miguel Arteta (THE GOOD GIRL). Michael Cera (JUNO) stars as Nick, a teenager who may be wise beyond his years, but that doesn’t stop him from getting in all sorts of…
I must say, there were some connections to the How to Make a Michael Cera Movie diagram, and I...

I liked the Annie Leibovitz exhibition surprisingly much.
Bright and Misty
The Degree Show is now up, I’m possibly getting a studio space in June, I’m buying a new medium-format camera, I will have works in another exhibition at the end of the month, I’ve applied for others, I look forward to being an artist.

How the Brain Stops Time (Psychology Today) →
psychotherapy:
One of the strangest side-effects of intense fear is time dilation, the apparent slowing-down of time. It’s a common trope in movies and TV shows, like the memorable scene from The Matrix in which time slows down so dramatically that bullets fired at the hero seem to move at a walking pace. In real life, our perceptions aren’t keyed up quite that dramatically, but survivors of...

the man many have seen, are you one of them? →
eliefisheye:
HISTORY In January 2006 in New York, the patient of a well-known psychiatrist draws the face of a man that has been repeatedly appearing in her dreams. In more than one occasion that man has given her advice on her private life. The woman swears she has never met the man in her life. That portrait lies forgotten on the psychiatrist’s desk for a few days until one day another patient...

A listing of missed photographs. I actually just had my own missed photograph opportunity. I was meeting my family for dinner and the darkening sky all around the parking lot of the restaurant was full of black birds. Thousands of them swarming and squawking. I had my camera, but forgot the memory card. I tried with my mobile, but it turned out to be a crappy shot....

On the Pagan Calendar
There’s something about the phases of the Sun or Moon, in the ancient ways of the year: you know it’s March when you start getting crushes on:
photography, again, and expired film
colours like coral and grey or any
a sewing machine
your future
glossy magazines
classic films
bus rides
basil, because it no longer freezes on the way home from the grocery store

I dream of sleep
and sunshine, days to dedicate to walking and exploring, the spring and chocolate cake.
The last semester is taking its toll.
